Size and airlines
Will it actually fit the Ryanair sizer?
Yes. Compressed, the KABINBAG Original measures 40 × 30 × 15 cm. Ryanair's free under-seat allowance is 40 × 30 × 20 cm, so it goes in with 5cm to spare.
Compress it before you leave for the airport, not at the gate. A soft-sided bag that hasn't been vacuumed down will bulge past the frame no matter what the label says.
What about easyJet, Jet2, TUI and the others?
Compressed at 40 × 30 × 15 cm it clears the free cabin allowance on every airline we've checked — Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet, TUI, Jet2, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. The full table with each airline's stated limit is on the product page.
Airlines change their allowances and we don't control that. Always check your airline's current limit before you fly. We're not affiliated with any airline named on this site.
How big is it expanded?
40 × 30 × 20 cm, about 30 litres. Compressed it's 40 × 30 × 15 cm, about 20 litres. The 5cm expansion layer unzips when you're packing and vacuums flat when you're flying.
Is there a weight limit I should worry about?
Most airlines cap cabin bags at around 10kg and some do weigh them. Compression doesn't help with this — see below.
How it works
Does compressing it make the bag lighter?
No, and we'd rather say so plainly than let you find out at the gate. Vacuum compression removes air, not weight. Your clothes weigh exactly the same compressed as they do loose.
What it changes is the shape — and shape is what the sizer measures.
How long does the compression hold?
The one-way valve holds a full seal for a normal travel day. On a long-haul flight, or if the bag takes a knock, you may notice it relax slightly. Ten seconds with the pump puts it back.
Do I need the pump, or will a vacuum work?
A rechargeable travel pump is included free with every KABINBAG Original — a £39 product in its own right. Any standard household vacuum works on the same valve, which is useful for the trip home if the pump's flat.
Will my clothes come out creased?
Some will, yes. Compression presses fabric. Cotton shirts and linen will want hanging up when you arrive. Knitwear, denim and technical fabrics come out fine.
Anything that must not crease goes in the top compartment, which isn't compressed.
How much actually fits?
Around five days of clothes for one person, packed flat — jumpers, jeans and all. Plus a laptop in the padded side-loading sleeve.
Ordering and delivery
What's included in the box?
The backpack, the rechargeable travel pump, a travel toiletry bag and a £20 gift card. Around £83 of extras, included free with every bag rather than sold as add-ons.
How much is delivery?
Free on UK orders over £50, which includes every KABINBAG Original. Under £50 it's £4.99 standard or £6.99 express, with no surcharge for Highland, Island or offshore addresses.
How long will it take to arrive?
Orders are despatched within 1–3 working days, and delivery is a further 3–5 working days from despatch, tracked. So most orders land within 4–8 working days of being placed.
Some items ship directly from our supplier, which is why this is slower than a next-day service. We'd rather tell you that before you order than after. Full detail on Shipping Policy.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Not at the moment. UK only, including Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
Where's my order?
Tracking is emailed the moment your order is despatched. Check your spam folder first, then use Track Your Order.
Tracking often goes quiet for several days while a parcel moves between carriers, then jumps forward several stages at once. That's normal. If it hasn't moved for more than 7 working days, email us and we'll chase it.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If it hasn't been despatched, yes. Email us straight away with your order number and what you'd like changed.
Returns
What if I change my mind?
You have 30 days from delivery to send it back for a full refund. It needs to come back unused and in its original packaging, with the pump, toiletry bag and gift card. Return postage for change-of-mind returns is paid by you.
Email support@kabinbag.com with your order number and we'll send the returns address. Full detail on Refund Policy.
What if it arrives faulty or isn't as described?
That one's on us. Send a photo with your order number and we'll cover the return postage and either replace it or refund you in full — your choice, not ours.
What are my legal rights?
Our 30-day policy sits alongside your statutory rights, not instead of them. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you can cancel within 14 days of delivery for any reason. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you can reject faulty goods for a full refund within 30 days.
Payment and photos
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Shopify and we never see or store your card details. You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay or PayPal.
Are the colours in the photos accurate?
As close as we can get them. Colours render differently on different screens, and there's normal batch-to-batch variation in dyed fabric. The four colourways are Black, Army Green, Light Blue and Pink — click a swatch on the product page and the photos change with it.
